Ford actually takes the customer’s ability to choose to another level, offering customers three different engine options. However, when all is said and done, the trio of systems still don’t match the capabilities of the Grand Cherokee’s engines.
The 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine is for those seeking power, as the system can crank out an impressive 365 horsepower and 350 pounds-feet of torque. However, despite technologies like Terrain Management System and Hill Descent Control, the fuel efficiency predictably suffers. The same goes with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost Engine, although this unit also skimps out on power (280 horsepower, 310 pounds-feet of torque). Finally, the 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6 engine provides the best fuel economy of the bunch, although the 24 highway mile per gallon efficiency leaves something to be desired. This unit doesn’t make up for that discrepancy with power, as drivers can still only expect 290 horsepower and 255 pounds-feet of torque.
