Two New Special Editions from Jeep for 2016
For 2016, Jeep wants to give you two special options: stealthy, or purple.
Earlier this week the American carmaker unveiled two brand new Special Edition models for 2016 at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show: the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night and the Jeep Wrangler Backcountry. Each notably distinct but equally impressive, the models defy what one might expect from a Special Edition Jeep.
Perhaps you’re just a casual Jeep fan or the proud driver of a reliable used Jeep Wrangler – whatever, the case, you’re bound to be impressed with the work Jeep has done on these new models.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night
Featuring a roof, rear spoiler, front grille bezels, B and C pillars and side window surrounds all adorned in Gloss Black finish along with Satin Black front applique, hood badging and rear liftgate, this Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night special edition is just about the sexiest, stealthiest model Jeep has ever offered.
Its lightweight, split five-spoke “5Ten” 20-inch wheels (also finished in Satin Black) and Black Laguna leather interior with Silver accent stitching and Light Black Chrome bezels make the Cherokee SRT Night perfect for cruising through town after dark. You’ll be turning heads as you roll by with that standard 6.4-liter V-8 engine, pushing 475 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque – if, that is, they don’t hear your 19-speaker 825-watt Harman Kardon stereo system first.
Complete with standard Fuel Saver Technology and an adaptive damping suspension and a Selec-Track Traction Control system, this special Jeep is no joke when it comes to serious performance either – able to hit 0-60 mph acceleration in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 168 mph.
With an available dual-pane sunroof, trailer tow package, three-season tires, a full-size spare tire and a dual-screen rear entertainment system, this might just be the model that convinces you to splurge on a special edition Jeep when it’s released in the first quarter of 2016.
The 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry
Are you in the market for a seriously powerful winter warrior of an SUV? Need something that won’t let you down even in the iciest, slipperiest conditions?
Do you love the color “Xtreme Purple?”
The newly-released 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry Special Edition is probably just the vehicle you’re looking for. Sporting a unique paint job sure to shock and awe any doubters, the Backcountry special edition is certainly not for the faint of heart.
This model is based on the successful and powerful Sahara model, with notable design changes and performance improvements. Boasting a Backcountry decal on the front fender and rear quarter panel, a unique off-road front and rear powder coated bumper, 17-inch Rubicon wheels painted in Mid-gloss Black and a black fuel fill door, this model’s bold design only accentuates its finer details.
The Backcountry comes standard with Wrangler Rubicon rock rails, optional Sahara side steps for no extra charge, and a standard black hard top – although the hard top can match the body color, optionally.
Piano Black vent rings, door handles and grab handles. Black McKinley leather seat bolsters with black sport mesh inserts. A vinyl-wrapped console lid and door armrests with Diesel Gray accent stitching. A nine-speaker premium Alpine sound system. Standard all-weather slush mats.
Are you drooling yet?
This special edition Backcountry is guaranteed to take you onto any snowy pass with style and comfort, and its hands-free Connectivity Group means you’ll never be left stranded.
And don’t worry – it;s available in Hydro Blue, Black, Bright White, and Granite Crystal as well.
