The Wrangler is arguably the most iconic Jeep vehicle. In fact, when you think of a Jeep, you probably picture a Wrangler without even knowing it. With its removable doors, military-inspired build, and awesome 4×4 capabilities, the Wrangler embodies the spirit of adventure that the Jeep brand is all about. The people of Fountain embody that, too—you wouldn’t live so near iconic mountains like Pikes Peak and the Front Range if you didn’t. If you’re looking for a Jeep Wrangler for sale near Fountain, visit us.

We have the many trims of this exceptional off-road SUV in stock. However, today, we want to look specifically at the most capable of them all: the Rubicon and the Rubicon X. These are the most extreme off-road trims Jeep makes for the Wrangler, boasting a combination of performance perks and cabin comforts that make them ready for your greatest adventures. Below are our favorite features of these two trims when it comes to performance and comfort.

Performance and Utility

Living in Fountain, you have access to some of the best off-roading in the country—no matter which direction you drive on I-25, you will find exciting trails to explore. So naturally, we have to discuss the performance and utility features of the Wrangler Rubicon and Rubicon X. While all Wrangler models come standard with 4×4 and are Trail Rated, the Rubicon and Rubicon X come with numerous special off-road upgrades. Let’s get into them!

Electronic Sway Bar Disconnect

For those who need a refresher on what a sway bar does when it is in place, a sway bar connects the right and left wheels of your vehicle. On flat, paved roads, this cuts down on body roll. While that’s a benefit for your standard, daily driving, it can be a limitation on bumpy, hilly, off-road trails. Vehicle movement is inevitable on rough terrain, and your experience as a driver will actually be more enjoyable if your vehicle is ready to go with the flow instead of resisting it.

This is where a sway bar disconnect comes into play. Disconnecting that sway bar lets your suspension travel more freely, resulting in greater suspension articulation. It lets your vehicle move with the terrain in a more natural way, allowing it to climb over larger obstacles without problems. Really, a disconnecting sway bar enables your Wrangler to adapt to the environment better.

Integrated Off-Road Camera

One of the perks of a Wrangler is how high up you’re sitting. You can really see what’s way ahead of you. However, seeing what’s directly in front of your vehicle’s nose is a different story. And seeing that matters when you’re navigating unpredictable off-road terrain. That’s why we love showing drivers the integrated off-road camera, which comes standard on the Rubicon X and is available on the Rubicon.

This camera shows you what’s on the ground directly in front of your tires, which helps you better plan your path. Projected grid lines help you see in real time what direction you’re headed as you turn your wheels. This camera can inform you if you need to make a last-minute adjustment to avoid a pothole or fallen tree. It’s also simply a lot of fun to get that up-close look at the terrain you’re traveling.

Capability Group

The Capability Group is available on the Rubicon and Rubicon X, and we like it because it adds steel front and rear bumpers, as well as a Warn winch. If you want to explore some of the rougher trails in the Fountain area, then the standard factory bumpers might not offer the protection you need. Steel bumpers are as tough as they come, providing protection against damage from large debris that might fly up and hit your undercarriage, like rocks and branches.

Meanwhile, if you go off-roading often, then you probably know that sometimes, you get stuck—literally. Whether it’s a sand pit, mud rut, or challenging stack of boulders that does you in, your vehicle might just stop propelling itself forward. Having that high-quality Warn winch gives you a way to pull yourself out of those sticky situations.

Comfort and Convenience

Just because you like to adventure in rough environments doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy some comforts along the way. We like the thoughtful features Jeep added to these upper off-road trims. Some of these features make the journey to the trail more enjoyable, while others address some of the nuisances that come up once you’ve hit the trails.

Improved Noise Insulation

As much as you love nature as an avid off-roader, you know that sometimes, nature can be loud. That’s why you might appreciate the noise-insulating parts that come standard on the Rubicon X. One of these is the acoustic laminated front door glass. Put simply, it’s an extra-thick type of glass that contains a sound-dampening layer to absorb noises before they make it inside your cabin.

Then, there is the acoustic front seat-area carpet. This extra-thick carpet is made with special sound-dampening materials, too, to create a quieter cabin experience. You may want to see gravel, rocks, streams, and cracking branches—but you don’t want to hear them. You probably have a playlist you’d rather listen to, and these acoustic components help you hear more of what you want and less of what you don’t.

Connected Travel and Traffic Services

Not everyone likes using their smartphone apps to look up traffic, find alternate routes, and learn about road closures. Sometimes, pulling up your device and getting online takes you out of the off-roading experience. So you might like that the Rubicon X comes standard with Uconnect 5 NAV connected travel and traffic services (this feature is also available on the Rubicon). It gets you real-time updates on traffic, weather, congested areas, and alternate routes. This way, you can avoid traffic in the Colorado Springs metropolitan area when trying to break free from the city streets.

Alpine Premium Sound System

For the record, this sound system is available on most 2025 Wrangler trims, but it only comes standard on the Rubicon X. The Alpine Premium Sound System gets you nine strategically placed speakers to create an immersive listening experience for you and your passengers. We know how much blasting your tunes sets the right vibe for a day of off-roading, so if you feel the same, you’ll love this incredible sound system.
