In recognition of his long and continuing role in the Colorado automobile industry, on April 11, 2023, Mike Faricy was inducted into the Colorado Automotive Hall of Fame. Presented by the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association, which Mike previously served as chair, the Colorado Automotive Hall of Fame is the most prestigious automotive awards ceremony in the Centennial State and takes place before the opening of the Denver Auto Show. Mike was joined at the event by his sons, Ben and Paul, and his grandsons, Henry and Owen, representing three generations of the Faricy family and the past, present, and future of Faricy Chrysler Jeep family-run dealership.

Mike grew up in the automotive industry, and his induction into the Colorado Automotive Hall of Fame recognizes a lifetime of hard work. As the son of Owen Faricy, he was able to watch first-hand as his father went from selling cars in the parking lot of a Pueblo gas station to founding two of the most successful car dealerships in Colorado. It is no surprise that as Mike got older, he joined his father in working at the family dealerships. In 1975, Mike and his brother, Joe, were ready to take the next step, and Owen began the long process of passing on the reins of the business he created to the second generation of the Faricy family.

A Local Colorado Legend

In 1990, Owen retired, and it was up to Mike to keep the family tradition of selling cars alive. With his commitment to displaying integrity, loyalty, and love to his employees and customers alike, Faricy Chrysler Jeep dealerships flourished and continued to be the place where Colorado drivers knew they could find quality vehicles and a welcoming family atmosphere. In addition to managing the family business, Mike also acted as a leader for the automotive industry in our state, advocating for other dealers. In 2010, after the Metro Denver Automobile Dealers Association was folded into the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association, Mike served as the chair for the newly combined organization, helping to lay the foundation for its remarkable growth over the past decade.

Mike was also determined to pass down his father’s passion for the automotive world to his own sons, Ben and Paul. Just like he did, the next generation of Faricy boys grew up at the dealership, watching how their father and grandfather ran the family business and absorbing their passion and commitment to serving Colorado drivers. Learning from his own experience taking over the dealership when his father retired suddenly, Mike actively prepared for a smooth transition when his children were ready to take the reins. In 2009, the third generation of the Faricy family officially took over management of the dealership, but Mike continues to remain a part of the family business, making sure he is always available whenever the new managers need some wisdom from the previous generation.
