Oil Change – Colorado Springs, CO

Routine maintenance might not be flashy or exciting, but it is one of the most important things you can do as a car owner to ensure your ride remains in the best condition possible. Not only does this help the value of your vehicle, but it provides you with a better ride both on and off-road, and ensures you are safely in control at all times. Getting an oil change might not be the first thing you want to do on a Saturday morning, but it keeps you riding safe and smooth the rest of the week.

Here at The Faricy Boys, helping you take proper care of your vehicle is very important to us. Our relationship with our customers does not end when you drive off in your vehicle but extends all throughout the time you own and enjoy your Jeep or Chrysler. Making sure you stay safely in control of your ride is just as important to us as helping you find the perfect car or SUV for your needs. That is why we offer expert service and maintenance, whether you need a simple oil change or have concerns about strange sounds coming from your brakes.

Why You Need an Oil Change

If you think that an oil change is something you only need to worry about if the “check engine” light comes on or there are other problems with your vehicle, then think again. The oil in your engine is there to make sure everything that powers your vehicle keeps running smoothly. On a daily basis, a tremendous amount of heat and power is generated by the engine in your vehicle, which would effectively destroy the engine if left to its own devices.

The oil in your engine is there to keep all the moving parts well lubricated to reduce friction and heat as much as possible. Over time, however, the normal functions of your engine break down the oil and pollute it with dirt and other particulates that make it less effective. This happens even in the best engines in the world with proper maintenance and use – the oil simply has a finite lifespan for its effectiveness in your engine.

To make sure everything keeps working smoothly, you need to get an oil change to drain out the old oil that has dirt and other stuff in it, and replace it with new oil that is more efficient. When you come to us here at The Faricy Boys, we can take care of an oil change quite quickly, and we can recycle your old oil to ensure it is used as much and as long as possible. You can check your Jeep’s owner’s manual to see how often the manufacturer recommends you get an oil change – stick to that timeline to ensure the best performance from your vehicle.

Conventional vs. Synthetic Oil vs. Synthetic Blend

Conventional oil will typically be your least expensive option, but it also is the least effective. Todays high tech engine designs and the increasing number of miles required between oil changes demand more than dated conventional oil can deliver. Gone are the days of having to change your oil every 3,000 miles, with synthetic and synthetic blends playing a large role in that. Additionally, conventional oil is not environmentally friendly, nor does it perform well in extreme hot or cold temperatures. This is why, here at the Faricy Boys, we only offer synthetic or synthetic blend oil. These two options allow for us to make sure your vehicle is running smoothly and trouble-free.

A full synthetic oil can cost a bit more than conventional oil, but it is great for your engine. It is more effective, lasts longer, and often has additives that help clean your engine while in use. Some synthetic oils can keep your vehicle on the road for up to 15,000 miles between oil changes, way more than any conventional oil could ever hope to achieve.

A synthetic-blend oil gives you some of the benefits of synthetic oil but at a great price. This blend is designed to handle extreme temperature changes and to keep your engine running smoother and longer. If you had previously used conventional oil, it is perfectly safe to switch to this blend or a full synthetic oil as long as a complete oil change is performed.
